Welcome to The Museum District Inn. The upstairs Townhouse is ready for you to begin relaxing and adventuring in Richmond, Virginia. With keyless entry to the front door of the Rowhouse and an additional keyless entry to the Upstairs unit, ease meets security. To reach the Townhouse, you ascend one flight of stairs with all living spaces on the second floor. Upstairs, enter the light-filled kitchen which connects to the large back deck. Use the stainless steel gas stove to cook a great meal or walk a block to begin perusing menus of the many restaurants in Carytown, The Devil's Triangle or in The Fan. The Microwave or toaster oven will heat up your leftovers to go with morning coffee, with beans provided for you from a local roaster. Enjoy breakfast on the back deck watching the sun rise over the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts or sip coffee on the front Balcony overlooking Floyd Avenue. After all adventures, a body needs to rest. Draw a warm bath with Lavender Epsom salts in the jetted tub. Sleep late in the Nature Room's Queen Size Brass bed. Watch TV on the 55 inch flat screen late night in the Queen Brass bed in the Broadway Room. Both beds are made by Brass Beds of Virginia, which provide a secure interlocking frame in addition to the beautiful designs. The Nature Room and Broadway Room feature art and photography from local artists. The living room faces South providing plenty of natural light from the original glass doors opening to the Balcony. The "Trunk Room" has been converted into a small den with a round table for eating, game playing or working. A printer with USB plug is available for you as well with high speed internet through Verizon FIOS. Showtime, HBO and Starz is included with the Cable package. Roku is set up on the TV's in the Nature Room and the Broadway Room as well. Location is key. The Museum District Inn is within two block of The Virginia Museum of Fines Arts (VMFA) and Carytown which offers shopping and dining. Also in Carytown you can go to the movie at the Historic Byrd Theater which still has an organist on Saturday nights to play the famous Wurlitzer. Dogwood Dell is a nice walk down the newly renamed Arthur Ashe Boulevard. Check their schedule for their outdoor concert series. Also on Boulevard is Bird Park with paddle boats on the lake, tennis courts, where Ashe played and a walking path. For night life, we are close to The Devil's Triangle and Robinson Street which have numerous bars. For live music on Thursday and Friday nights, you will enjoy the VMFA's Jazz in the Sculpture Garden's. For the early morning riser, you can enjoy the VMFA's gardens with Saturday Morning Yoga on the raised deck overlooking cascading waterfalls and Lily pond with "Red Reeds" by Chuiliy. Richmond has so much history to explore. Close to the Museum District Inn, immediately next to the VFMA is the Virginia Historical Museum. A short drive to Hollywood Cemetery will delight with views of the James River and the graves of four US Presidents. The Science Museum of Virginia and the Children's Museum are just on Broad Street. Walking or biking on one of the Richmond Bike Share bikes is a great way to view Historic Monument Avenue or find your own adventure.
